All Negro #1
Comics > Golden Age (1938-1955)
Condition: CGC 6.0
Reference Number: #1
Country: US
Date: June 1947
Exceptionally rare comic and the first by an African-American! Rated as a Gerber 9 with fewer than 10 copies in existence. Most comics from this era had a cover price of 10 cents and this one has a price of 15 cents. It might be one of the reasons so few copies exist. I think once you hold this copy in your hand, you will agree that 6.0 is a harsh grade and this book should have graded much higher.

Original Joe Simon art
Comics > Original Comic Art
Country: US
Joe Simon - Original Art "Nancy and Sluggo" (undated).
Joe Simon, the co-creator of Captain America rendered this parody of Nancy and Sluggo as hippies. I'm not sure that Ernie Bushmiller would appreciate this depiction of his well loved classic characters but it is obvious that Joe Simon had fun doing it. This Summer of Love piece portrays Nancy (nude and tatooed!) and Sluggo cooking up some Kool-Aid for the needle. (Do you smell the swimming mouse?) Matted to a size of 16" x 20" the image area of this piece is 11.5" x 12". It is in Excellent condition!
